Alloy Wheel
Refurbishment

That ‘new wheel’ feeling

Lets face it, seeing curbed or damaged wheels on a car totally ruins the look and style no matter how expensive, precious or beautiful the car may be.

From stone chips and heavy corrosion to curb damage and paint flaking, we have seen it and refurbished it all!

Why Choose Us?

Some car garages and mobile repairers will use a ‘SMART’ repair to enhance the look of your wheels which is a short term fix that usually leads to a much bigger problem a few months down the line. This can be a quick way to improve slight damage to an alloy wheel on the spot, although it is difficult to achieve an OEM level of quality without following the same processes involved when the wheel was first made.

Here at Premier Wheels Midlands Ltd, we specialise in FULL alloy wheel refurbishment. Our processes and systems replicate the standards of car manufacturers known as OEM to ensure that you drive away with that ‘new wheel’ feeling.

Wheel Refurbishment

How it works

Step 1:

Once the wheels are off the car, tyres are removed and your wheels are inspected for buckles and cracks. Then we carefully remove TPMS sensors,  valves & wheel weights before your wheels are stamped for traceability and prepared for chemical stripping.

Step 2:

Your wheels are then submerged into our thermal chemical stripping tanks where any paint and residue is removed. This environmentally friendly method takes around 4 hours to complete. Your wheels are washed to decontaminate them before the next stage begins.

Step 3:

At this stage, any cosmetic damage and other imperfections are removed before your wheels are shot blasted using a fine media and heated or ‘degassed’ in our high temperature ovens.

Step 4:

A powder coat primer is sprayed onto the wheels and cured in our ovens. Once cooled to an optimum temperature,  a wet paint is sprayed onto the wheels giving you the desired colour you are looking for.

Step 4a:

If your wheels are of diamond cut style, this is the point in which your wheels will be put onto our CNC lathe and a tiny amount of paint is cleverly removed to expose the bare metal finish underneath.

Step 5:

Once coated and painted, your wheels are given a powder coat of high quality acrylic lacquer that locks in that durable finish. A satin lacquer can be also applied depending on your desired finish.

Step 6:

Once your wheels have completed the coating & lacquering stages, TPMS, valves and tyres are refitted before they are balanced and carefully put back onto your vehicle.
